Global
Dignity Day Celebration at Askari X
In
a day and age when there is so much conflict in the world there is a great need for broad agreement on
something unifying , something that encourages and even grows a sense of
community. That something is dignity. The Global Dignity Day was designed to
break all barriers and cross all fences to reach out to the world at large. We
at Askari X are very proud to have collaborated with our partner school in
Philippines to get our message across. The bright sunny day of the 17th
of October was the unifying element as over 50 countries across the globe
celebrated the day in their own fashion.
The
day at Askari X began with a whole school assembly presentation displaying
their latent talent and perception of the issues. The festivities included a
dramatic rendering of the essence of dignity, story sharing about Edhi and
Malala Yousafzai and the dance of joy of class I students, to the heart
thumping music and synchronization of our school choir.
The
highlight of the day was the Dignity Walk that the students participate in. the
students had made extraordinary posters based on the theme of dignity and its
essence. The students bearing the posters showcased their desire to end all
miseries that ail our mother earth through their optimism and positive and all
inclusive activism.
